Filter bags are, in general, frequently used for dust removal in industrial applications. The flow can be from the outside to the inside of the filter, which means the separation of particles happens on the external surface of the filter or the other way around, depending on the application. The particles are normally captured on the internal surface of the bag filter.
Filter bags come in various lengths, sizes, and micron ratings. The materials and the choice depend on the amount and size of the particulate that needs removal. Their diameter size ranges from 4–7 inches, and their maximum depth is 32 inches. The filtration rate varies from 1–1,500 microns, although the capacity depends on the surface area of the bag. The liquid bag filters are not replaceable once clogged, but some gaseous ones are easy to clean either through mechanical, electrical, manual, or reverse flow methods.
Based on the product type, the global filter bag market is segmented as follows:
- Liquid Filter Bags
- Air filter bags
